Stories like this turn my stomach but fully reveal the underlying problem no liberal will admit, this administration has infected and spread across our country a huge oozing sore of anti-Americanism, and yes…I do question their patriotism. The creative director of the National September 11th Memoriam Museum, Michael Shulan, thought the iconic photo of the raising of the flag in the rubble of the World Trade Towers by Ground Zero Firefighters was too “rah rah America:
“I really believe that the way America will look best, the way we can really do best, is to not be Americans so vigilantly and so vehemently,” Shulan said.
Shulan wasn’t alone. Other staffers pondered hailing America too “vigilantly” as well. And what did they finally do? Chief curator Jan Ramirez proposed the fix – a way to “undercut the myth” of Americanism:
The Franklin shot was minimized in favor of three different photos via three different angles of the flag-raising scene.
“Several images undercut the myth of ‘one iconic moment,’ Ramirez said, and suggest instead an event from multiple points of view, like the attacks more broadly,” the book says.
Shulan told the New York Post he didn’t want to reduce-down the attacks into something was “too simple.” He didn’t want to “distort” the complexity of the event.”
Only someone in the arts, on the left side of the aisle in Congress or a member of Western Muslim communities cannot truthfully explain that the attacks were “jihad,” unless they’ve already committed jihad, like Nidal Hasan on trial for the Ft. Hood murders – who says he killed his fellow soldiers because we “would hate for the law of Almighty Allah to be the supreme law of the land.” It really is that simple. No myth. So simple, media isn’t talking about it.
