ALEPPO, SYRIA (11:05 A.M.) - It has been a long journey for the Syrian Armed Forces in Aleppo since mid-2013, when the entire province was under siege by the jihadist rebels.
However, on Friday morning, the Syrian Arab Army's Republican Guard, backed by Liwaa Al-Quds (Palestinian paramilitary), accomplished what was almost unthinkable in late-2013; they recaptured the strategic Kindi Cancer Hospital from the jihadist rebels of Fatah Halab.
With the capture of the Kindi Hospital on Friday, the Syrian Armed Forces have managed to fortify their positions at the Handarat Refugee Camp, which is located directly east of this former cancer treatment center in northern Aleppo.
The Syrian Armed Forces will now shift their focus to the Bustan Al-Basha District, as they continue their large-scale offensive in the northern sector of Aleppo city.
