The Forest of Dean district contains one of England’s last ancient forests, with over 100 square kilometres of woodland. Our district has four bustling market towns (Newent, Coleford, Cinderford and Lydney) and many smaller, rural settlements. For residents the “specialness” of the area is important arising from its cultural identity and superb natural environment.
