Portland Trailblazers Point Guard Damian Lillard has been releasing music for a while now, but he hasn't taken the next step and put out a full project. Thankfully, the drought ends today with the release of his debut album The Letter O, which he released under his rap name Dame D.O.L.L.A.

The project features appearances from Lil Wayne, Raphael Saadiq, Jamie Foxx, Marsha Ambrosius, Juvenile, and more. He announced the project only yesterday via Instagram, noting that it had roots in the three places he's lived: his birthplace of Oakland, California; his college town of Ogden, Utah; and his current home of Portland, Oregon.

Lillard has been impressing listeners with his rap skills for the last year. Not only has he dropped a number of SoundCloud loosies, but he recently appeared on Sway in the Morning to spit a hot freestyle. Fans have been eagerly awaiting his serious entry into hip-hop, and with the NBA off season just finishing up, it looks like he finally had some time to dedicate to making music in a major way.

Lillard's rap skills even got high praise from the NBA's best:
