Robert Powell's conversations

It does appear to be very unstable... I think that the weight of the traction motors etc gives a low centre of gravity. Google Creech Tramway and prepare to be amazed at the work of the volunteers. I will get round to giving titles and locations to the recent pictures. Kind regards. Bob

Nice old station. Almost fairy tale architecture.

Washington has quite a few murals. Building owners are even paying street artists to put them on. This one that you have seen is an example. My grandson just discovered the fish and was taken by the image. This and this is actually done by the owner on his alley museum, The Fridge. It has been a while since I was near this one. Adams Morgan is somewhat "famous" for several with this one being well known and almost symbolic of the area. The D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities finances many. Marilyn is on Salon Roi and that story is in the New York Times. Neighborhood Nomad has a web page, Murals of Washington (guess which face tops the list). Yeah, Brexit UK deeply upset me, still does.

Only for four legged exercise. I suspect they mostly lie about on those things looking at the harried two legged things passing by. One of these days I will have to pass in daytime to see the customers.

Wow! A man and a rant after my own heart. Well said. Many thanks for the comprehensive shipping information. I won't delete the pictures, so there Pano and GE. B and A.

Very nice, but having just done a refinishing job on four hatch batten boards that woodwork (it looks real not plastic) is a terror. I always get that mixed admiration and "Yikes!" feel including for this one. Then for one with money to have one of these labor costs should be a minor inconvenience. That old "If you have to ask what it cost you cannot afford one" I think a quote from J. P. Mrogan about one of his monster yachts.

Have to say those Greek colors are some of my favorites. Then my real favorite going back to teen years was a scheme of "storm" grey. I always painted my bedrooms the restful grey of a thunderstorm or the North Atlantic. Back then, late teens, when I managed swimming pools, I always used about the blue of those foreground planters and white for painting pool woodwork and accessories.

Absolutely correct. Regards Bob and Anne.

I agree there was never much there to merit such a grand station. Perhaps a strange clause in the original Act of Parliament? Or just an English eccentricity. Someone out there must know. Bob
