BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:50 P.M.) – The Turkish-backed Euphrates Shield forces reportedly seized the Al-Shehabi Farms located at the northern flank of Al-Bab City today after a fierce battle with the Islamic State (ISIS).

As a result of this advance, the Euphrates Shield forces now control the northern entrance of Al-Bab, leaving the city almost fully besieged by the Turkish Army and their allies.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reportedly told journalists today that his forces will not halt their military operations in northern Syria until the Islamic State is completely wiped out from the country.

However, this presents a problem for the Syrian government and Kurds, as they are both fighting the Islamic State forces, while also fully opposed to the Turkish Army’s incursion into northern Syria.

While the Turkish Armed Forces have not attacked the Syrian Arab Army, they have repeatedly targeted the predominately Kurdish “People’s Protection Units” (YPG) in northern Syria, causing unnecessary upheaval in the Aleppo Governorate.
