I love Yello. My favorite singles by them were always Call It Love and The Rhythm Divine. Thanks Paul once again.

Btw, and chance of a re-rip of Yello – Vicious Games (US 12″ Promo)? I’ve virtually been drooling over it since I stumbled upon your site. 🙂

This single brings back so many memories for me Paul. Yello, is one of my favorite bands of all time. Their sound was/is epic and cinematic. I became very obsessed with them too wanting to buy so much of their back catalog. And this was way before all the hype with their “Oh Yeah” single. This song was so awesome. Even though I didn’t have MTV when it first came out, I noticed via Billboard Magazine that “I Love You” got some play in the early days of Music Television. I love the whole sex/driving thing. So J.G. Ballard “Crash” in a way. The instrumentation and the vocals are perfect. Thanks for bringing this song back to life with your sonic genius!
Jeff

Love me some Yello! This US 12” is especially great for the extended (remixed?) version of the LP track ”Heavy Whispers.” To my knowledge this is the only place it has appeared. Thanks so much!!!

I was just about to say the same thing. I have the Yello reissue set but there’s no extended version of “Heavy Whispers,” just the LP version.

Yello are one of the most important and most interesting music projects in the history of electronic music. The big soundscapes and arrangement exhibitions by Boris Blank still sound mind blowing and fresh to me, even after 30 years!
Unfortunately that applies mostly to the 80s albums and singles, their 90s stuff sounds very weak, they seemed to got stuck in the mainstream dance-techno-rave trap.
But in 2009 they released a fantastic album called Touch Yello, something completely different, but then again Yello @ their best!
Also not to be forgotten they always had been very stylish in their funny and experimental videos 🙂 If there are readers out there which don’t have a clue about Yello, and want to check them out, I would recommend you to start with the compilation: Yello – 1980-1985 The New Mix In One Go

Great post. Probably my overall favorite song of theirs, likely due to heavy airplay up here in Seattle.
Ever hear the Pascal Gabriel remix that was a b-side to “The Race”? Love that version too.

Excellent !!
Would love to see more Yello
Especially as the 12″ mixes were edited on the 2005 remasters to fit more tracks on

+1 for more of this legends, I wouldn’t mind to see a whole series, but @ least new links for your rip of Yello – Vicious Games (US 12″ Promo).
Yes, the 12inch version of I love you is only 5.14 on the remaster series as a bonus track, anyway the remaster series from 2005 was sold out immediately.
LOL
As I typed this Paul posted the re-rip of Yello – Vicious Games (US 12″ Promo),
nice timing Paul!
