EuropaCity is a “co-elaborated” private project deemed of national interest*

EuropaCity, a project resulting from private initiative and funding, co-constructed since 2010.

“Innovation is the keystone of our project, with respect to content as well as to elaboration. In this context, co-construction with all of the project stakeholders is essential : the Scientific Council Meetings, the ID Factories, The Steering Committees with public policy makers, workshops with local residents and the public debate are crucial to enhancing the project and building a district that will fit into its region. It will meet the needs of its visitors over the long term.”

The steering committee

The magnitude of the project and the fact that it is part of a public urban planning project explain the involvement of the national and local governments. EuropaCity wanted, in bringing together all public partners in a Steering Committee, to involve them in a process aiming at supporting the project, in an open and transparent manner. The Committee has been meeting on a regular basis since 2010 and fosters discussion between the various stakeholders and thereby generates regional synergies.

It is composed of :

The Scientific Council

The Scientific Council is a forward-looking think tank that has been meeting every six months since 2012. It brings together around thirty French and International experts who debate and give advice and recommendations on the societal dimensions of the project.
