Under the UK Overseas Territories and Crown Dependencies Training and Research Programme there are opportunities for organisations and individuals from the Overseas Territories to request financial contributions to research projects and request financial support to attend training courses.

Training Courses

The Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust have produced a conservation training prospectus for their 2012 courses. Durrell’s mission is saving species from extinction. They achieve this through conservation breeding programmes, restoring species in their native habitats and training others to do the same.

University of Reading have announced a UKOTs and CDs Training and Research Programme Facebook Page! Facebook has become a very popular and modern way of exchanging scientific information and promoting opportunities to targeted audiences. The creation of the Page will hopefully serve the same purpose of the recently created forum, but appeal to more people and be more user-friendly.

To those with active profiles on Facebook, please ‘Like’ the Page! You can then interact with others using the Page, as well as posting links to information you have found useful or to the webpages of your own organisations.

Educational Materials

At the request of the Overseas Territories and Crown Dependencies Steering group, a web page has also been set up to direct people who are interested to environmental education materials that have been produced by or about the Overseas Territories and Crown Dependencies.

UK Overseas Territories and Crown Dependency students who are based in the UK are also able to link into opportunties under this programme.
