Description
Narrated by Kenneth Branagh. Using rare archive footage, this six-part landmark series brings to the viewer the gritty reality of life in the trenches and other theatres of war in full colour. It investigates the development of warfare throughout the five years of World War 1 from all sides of the armed forces and also includes never before seen interviews from survivors of the Great War. With the assistance of experts in the US and the resources of over 400 skilled technicians, all of the footage has been painstakingly colourised.

This was a revelation of a series. Kenneth Branagh has the kind of voice you could listen to all day.
Highly recommended for anybody with even a passing interest in WW1
