This DIY Baseball Frame is adorable, and Dad will love it, too. Older kids can make this Father’s Day craft on their own, and younger children will need a helping hand. If Dad isn’t a big baseball fan, you’ll find a few more ideas in this round up of Father’s Day crafts that kids can make. If all else fails, take the kids to the dollar store and have them pick out the fixings for a Candy Bouquet. Score!
Baseball Frame by Linda Valentino.
To make a Baseball Frame, you’ll need:
- STYROFOAM™ Brand Foam:
- 6” flat wreath
- Four, 2” balls
- Acrylic craft paint in blue
- Ribbon, ½” wide, solid blue and blue with stars
- Mini rick rack in red
- Photo, cut to 4” square
- Chenille stem
- Thick, white craft glue
- Tools needed: Scissors; plastic knife; ruler; stiff paintbrush; pencil
To make a Baseball Frame:
1. Paint front and sides of wreath blue. Let dry.
2. Glue solid blue ribbon around the outside edge. Glue star ribbon around the inside edge.
3. Cut four balls in half with plastic knife. Note: If crafting with younger children, an adult should cut the balls in half.
4. Cut sixteen, 3” lengths of rick rack. Glue two pieces to each half ball as shown to resemble baseballs. Glue ends of rick rack to cut side of balls.
5. Arrange balls on wreath with sides touching. Rotate the balls so that the “stitching” is at different angles. Glue in place and let glue dry.
6. Twist together ends of a 3-1/2” chenille stem, forming a hanging loop. Insert and glue the loop to the back.
7. Center picture in the frame, and glue corners of the photo to the back of the frame.
The rick rack is a genius way to recreate the look of stitching!
I have one more suggestion – if Dad likes donuts (ha, ha, is that really a question?), how about serving him Donut Kebobs for breakfast on Father’s Day?

These baseball wreaths are so cute! I can see Dad, Grandpa, Uncle, and more getting one for Father’s Day! We are Cardinal Fans at our home, so may incorporate them with a sticker or a miniature red cardinal. For those of you Cub or other fans, you could do the same. Thank you for sharing, Sharon!

Cute idea! Jenna has really gotten into baseball and I think she would love to make one of these for Daddy with a picture of her in it! She is actually a pretty great hitter! Her first swing ever and she hit it over Daddy’s head and to the driveway over 100′ away! I don’t know who was more surprised, Jenna, Daddy or me! I don’t think it was a fluke either because she hasn’t missed a pitch yet! Maybe she will be the first girl to play in the Major Leagues! 🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂🙃
