Donovan Mitchell to enter draft, but may return to Louisville

Louisville Cardinals sophomore guard Donovan Mitchell told ESPN he will declare for the NBA draft but will not hire an agent.

"I talked to Coach [Rick] Pitino and he felt like it was the right decision also," Mitchell said. "Whether or not I leave or not, I can improve."

"It's my dream to play in the NBA," he added. "But I want to make sure it's the right decision. There's no downside to doing this, and I want to see where I'm at."

Mitchell is a big-time athlete who averaged 15.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.7 assists this past season while shooting 35 percent from beyond the arc. However, his play elevated during ACC play, where he averaged 18.1 points and shot 40 percent from deep. He showed he could play the point while Quentin Snider was hurt during ACC play.
