Europalia is an international arts and cultural festival held
every two years in Belgium and its neighboring countries. Indonesia has been
chosen as the host country for Europalia in 2017.
Festival Europalia is being organized by Europalia International,
a non-profit association under the auspices of the Belgian Royal Family, in
conjunction with the Government of Indonesia and the Europalia Indonesia team.
Indonesia is only the eighth non-EU country to participate in this festival
since its inception in 1969.
Festival Europalia Indonesia will run from October 2017 until
January 2018. It will be officially opened by His Majesty the King of Belgians
and the President of the Republic of Indonesia in Brussels, on 10th
October 2017.
The festival will feature exhibitions and performances which total
to more than 200 events in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, the UK, Germany,
Greece, and Poland,.
