AllMusic Review by

Cobra Killer's self-titled debut album cobbles tracks together out of disjointed vocal samples, jarringly irregular rhythms, eerie synths, driving and often distorted basslines, and the occasional noise sample. There's a very lo-fi ambience to the whole project, which actually helps it sound darker and more vaguely threatening than it might otherwise; there's also some twisted humor on tracks like "Six Secs," a subversion of '70s soul. While Cobra Killer doesn't create either songs or soundscapes, it's oddly pleasurable, for all its attempts to keep the listener off balance, although it may have worn out its welcome if it had been much longer.
