ACE OF BASE RELEASES NEW ALBUM HIDDEN GEMS OUT MARCH 6

Ace of Base celebrates 20 years since being Nr 1 on the US Billboard charts with their debut album ‘The Sign’ by releasing a collection of previously unreleased tracks and rare alternative takes.

The rumors that spread through the fan chat-rooms that Jonas Berggren has been sitting on a mountain of unreleased material – are true.

REMASTERED CATALOUGUE RELEASED
In January 2015 Playground Music Scandinavia has released remastered versions of the first four albums digitally worldwide, each with previously unreleased bonus tracks from the same vault that is bringing ‘Hidden Gems’.

Jonas: “Tommy Ekman helped me with it and it has a certain summer flow to it. Or so I think anyway. It was a new trick to let the chords go higher and higher during a song, from start to end. Not sure if another such song exists?”

Jonas: ”Douglas Carr and I wrote the song together with Diane Warren in LA. She showed us her secret “inspiration room” where nothing had changed over the years. It was full of old equipment and felt very ruff. It was so cool, she said few people had seen it and that she wrote much of her songs in there.”

Written by Jonas Berggren, Douglas Carr and Diane Warren. Produced by Jonas Berggren and Stephen Hague. Bonus track on the Japanese “Cruel Summer” album.

We have carefully gone back to the original master tapes for the first four Ace of Base albums and had them remastered at legendary Swedish studio – cutting room in Stockholm. Now releasing all editions globally – Ace of Base fans the world over can enjoy the alternate versions that were only available previously on import. Each album also comes with exclusive bonus tracks – hand picked by Jonas and Ulf.
