Hamburg, 29 August 2005 –

GLAMOUR will soon be hitting Dutch newsstands, courtesy of G+J. The publisher is partnering with Condé; Nast to publish a Dutch edition of the internationally successful women´s magazine beginning Sep 1.

GLAMOUR is one of the most popular and fastest-growing international magazine brands in the women´s segment. It is currently published in 12 countries including the U.S., Italy, the U.K., Germany, France and Poland. Dutch GLAMOUR will be issued in the familiar pocket format and in an initial print run of 310,000 copies at a cover price of €1.95. The new magazine´s editor-in-chief is Karin Swerink, 36, former deputy editor-in-chief of Libelle, the leading Dutch weekly for women.

GLAMOUR´s launch will be accompanied by an extensive TV and poster ad campaign under the auspices of BSUR, a creative agency in Amsterdam. In the run-up to the launch, the magazine was promoted in a very special collaboration: The TV channel RTL ran a six-part series in which a panel of judges consisting of Karin Swerink and a society column expert picked a winner from among eight ambitious young journalists. The prize: a job offer from the GLAMOUR editorial offices. The series scored above-average ratings in GLAMOUR´s target demographic of women between the ages of 18 and 49.

GLAMOUR is G+J´s fifth magazine in the Netherlands, where the portfolio also includes NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC, NG TRAVELER, NG JUNIOR and QUEST.

Eric Blok, CEO G+J Netherlands, said: "Coming on the heels of the success of NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC and QUEST, GLAMOUR is the third major magazine launch in the short history of our publishing company. The rave response to GLAMOUR from the market research community and among our advertising customers gives us great confidence in the future of our new title. We encourage our readers to a new perspective on fashion and style. Our outstanding team of editors headed by Karin Swerink will set new standards in the Dutch women´s magazine market."
