  2. This game is amazing when matchmaking is actually on point! Had some awesome fun matches tonight where everything was even and noone dominated anyone. Fk that “git good” shit....when the matchmaking works, i do really good!!! lol i knew it wasnt my imagination that i was getting lopsidedly destroyed in some matches yesterday.

I hope this upcoming patch and progression tweaking is as good as it seems like it will be!

So why should Supercharged Sentry be nerfed

Because that weapon can hit me behind two walls, around two corners and up two stories. The AOE of that weapon is so ridiculous. A reduction in splash damage is greatly needed

Does way too much damage, including around cover, at way too long of a range way too accurately, while simultaneously regenning your health and buffing you against explosive damage. It's a little ridiculous.

They don't need to over-nerf it, but they could make it less accurate, do MUCH less splash damage, last a shorter time, reduce ROF, anything really.

They need to decide if they want its primary role to be suppression / area denial (Long duration, low damage, low accuracy) or actually racking up kills (Much shorter duration, shorter range, close to current amount of damage). Because right now it's too good at filling both of those roles with minimal effort.

I'd be happy just using the default Sentry Mode but the bolded is why I'm always going to be compelled to take some kind of Sentry card. The health regen should be on the default mode as well to open up different load outs because you're a sitting duck otherwise. I can't stand Explosive Sentry but would be quite happy taking Mobile Sentry if Supercharged got nerfed hard (which is inevitable and why I've never upgraded it to purple).

I also think the Default/Mobile Sentry should deal more base damage. Its very accurate but its otherwise just not a threat unless you get the drop on someone or get lucky, and it may as well be shooting spitballs at vehicles.

Without the health regen in the default Sentry Mode, Heavy just feels really restrictive in terms of cards and I tend to run two basic loaduts:

    Default
    Supercharged Sentry
    Survivalist
Bodyguard or Bounty Hunter (sometimes Marksman)

    Anti-vehicle/Strafighter

    Supercharged Sentry
    Ion Torpedo
    Ion Turret

Post-nerf I'll probably just swap in Mobile Sentry instead but I'd love to go a third stat booster card or other ability card like barrage, etc.

wish we can run different loadouts.

But I generally stick with Supercharged Sentry, Ion Turret, and Bounty Hunter. And I tend to do very well

Trying not to get my hopes up to much, but holy shit if they fix matchmaking and the load times I would cry tears of joy.

I'm not even going to entertain the idea of them adding a map select option, that would be too much.

I will miss the Blurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrg but it is the single best weapon in the game, IMO. The fucking tears I go on on the Hoth GA map are fucking ridiculous. Even the start of Theed... shit is too fucking good.

    Damn, man :(

All that time and effort purpling up my Heavy and Enforcer classes.

    /face palm at myself

I should have known they were too good to be true.

As long as they're not nerfed into oblivion that they become impotent shells of themselves, I guess.

I've been working on the Armored vehicle class, and have one Purple on it and two Blues. I almost feel like I should halt upgrades until we see how all of this shakes out.

That Armored vehicle full heal is too beautiful to go unnoticed for much longer.

Like I said before all they need to do is remove rolling while in overcharge from the Wookie. Then he is IMO fine. And kill that flame trooper entirely and replace him with Death Troopers.

Overcharged sentry didn't too OP for me. Used it for a while but decided to replace it with another starcard. Plus you are basically imobile while using it. That got on my nerves.

No clue about that pistole. Didn't bother too long with officers.

He has the strongest grenade and strongest weapon out of all of the enforcers by a wide margin. No other enforcer can do that much burst damage AND each shot has explosive splash damage. It's nuts.

Heroes run away from Wookies. That's all that needs to be said about their balance lol

They are very strong against lightsaber-heroes when they activate overcharge, true. But if you do headshots you can kill them with both Death Troopers/Super Battle Droids and ranged-heroes. Also I wouldn't call his grenade better than the arm-rocket from the Robots-Enforcer. That can be pretty deadly, depending on the situation, because it is basically an instant shot.

Wrist rockets have almost no splash and at best will take out a single trooper with a direct hit.

Thermal imploders can one-shot an entire squad

The point is that you have to be super on point with those units to score the kill against a Wookiee whereas the Wookiee has to put in a fraction of the effort to retaliate successfully. Hell, I think most of us here have experience of taking down Wookiee's with good ability use and aim but that's simply not possible when stuck in chokepoints where one or two Wookiee's can hold off a whole team seemingly indefinitely.

    Favorite Starfighter Map Rankings:

    • D'Qar
    • Kamino
    • Unknown Regions
    • Endor
    • Ryloth
    • Fondor

It's a shame that D'Qar and Unknown Regions almost never show up in matchmaking for me.

Maps I'd like to see added for SFA:

    • Takodana (TFA)
    • Coruscant (RotS)
    • Naboo (TPM)
    • Scarif (R1)
    • Bespin (from the Campaign mission)

I had both situations more than once. Wookies dominating a whole team and Wookies getting killed in seconds.

But you are right about the effort. Wookies are the easiest to play among the Enforcers by far.

It's hard to dodge the rockets while it's not that hard to dodge the grenades. You have several seconds to get out of range.

  25. Wookies are nearly as undefeatable as people seem to claim. The biggest issue I have with them is the star card that expands their thermal imploder blast radius to absurd heights. At the highest card level you can basically clear out any defenders from most of the Strike control points with one.

I doubt the Season 2 content would be ready so quickly after Season1 ends. I hope we don't have to wait for the next season for the patch.

There's a Star card that increases the range quite a bit. It's very easy to throw it in the general direction of a fight and get 2-3 kills.

I have it on level 3. 2-3 kills can be assissts or already damaged enemies. But killing 2-3 enemies at full HP is IMO very rare. Even at choke points. You get a big fat indicator for every grenade and it's really not that hard to dodge.

My hope is that we’ll see the patch as soon as Season 1 ends. So next Thursday-ish. I certainly hope we won’t have to wait longer than that for it.

Can't wait for the nerfs to Wookies and the supercharged. Means I can play Vader without running like a wimp the second I get lit up by a supercharged or chased by a wookie.

I really don't mind the other sentries. You can block the normal one and dodge the explosive variant, but supercharged is just a death sentence vs. heroes like Vader.

Hit rank 50 today so I do hope they increase the level cap soon. Not getting 3k credits every so often hurts a lot.

  30. If it avoids being nerfed, the SE-44C with improved cooling and rapid fire mod is a very good alternative for the Blurrg. Especially close range. For mid and long range the S-5 is also a beast.

I suspect that season 2 was fairly far in development when the game was released.

With any hope they can rebound a bit with it to justify a season 3, but I won't expect one.

  32. Wasnt the character model for Grevious data mined from the game when it was released? Yeah, they've had to be working on it for some time if it includes a new map and new characters like Season 1

It looks like Dice knows where to adjust things. Wookie and Blurrg are the most obvious, but they seem to rebalance classes in general too, wich is nice if you ask me. I love Dice, they make great games, but i'm cautious about their patches...

Any news/speculation about further monetization of the game? I hope we get content updates over years, but I really doubt it because that would require a stable income for the developer.
I guess they release one or two more seasons and go on to their next project :( This whole microstransaction debacle really didn't do anything good for the game.

I think I'll take a break from the game until the next big patch comes out. I'm starting to feel the redundancy at this point, way sooner than I did with SWBF1 too.

  38. One of the devs is still talking about a live service, so I'm still hopeful that they're going to keep adding stuff over a longer period of time.
And regarding monetization, realistically the only way forward is cosmetics I feel. Anything other would again cause a gigantic shitstorm.

They're gonna have to ban user mods if they push cosmetic MTX hard then. Already regularly seeing Rodians and Twileks and Zabraks running around my GA games. Started seeing some new Clone armor permutations too.

Great to read. Shouldn't be too hard to implement cosmetics in a Star Wars game, tbh. Hoping for the best because the game is amazing.

  41. I seriously would pay good money for some outlandish skins. And I really would like them doing a system similar to Uncharted 4's MP cosmetics. Pay for the skin/customization you want outright or buy lootboxes (which never contain an item that you already own).

Re: starfighter maps, my preferences run:

    Fondor
    Ryloth
    Kamino
    Endor
    Unknown Regions
    D'Qar

I prefer being able to actually use my bomber. Fondor and Ryloth feel the most like a Death Star mission for me.

Kamino is fun, but I find it pretty hard to win as the Republic; the Seperatists have a ton of time on those final phase engines.

I actually like the fact that there are Starfighter maps without bombers. Because if you don't use a bomber as attackers you are basically doing it wrong in the first place. At least with so many people still taking fighters and even interceptor as attackers.
