Yay...Rowena's back. Just what the show needed. The episode itself was decent, but she'll make things worse again and annoy the hell out of us.
It is. Somehow, someway, after the slump of Season 6 through 8, the show has slowly getting better in all aspects, and by season 12 it has evolved into something entirely new, something better. Not just choreography, but the aesthetics, character interactions, and even the plot is going places without feeling like its trying to one up itself with new enemies out of nowhere. As for this weeks episode, it was decent. Nothing excellent, but far from poor. Although I hate how everyone dead is coming back, Rowena out of nowhere was actually pretty shocking. Like I expected her to come back in some form, but not this fast and not this soon. I really want to know what that spell at the end was.
Well I can't quite pin point when it happened but even the stellar season 11 wasn't free of fight choreography, after season 9 was when I really started noticing it and it got especially awful during the opening of the last season particularly everything revolving around def leppard lucifer. I think I mentioned it somewhere in this thread if not on the old abandoned one. The fights were feeling lethargic, sloppy and ridiculously contrived, it was getting to the point where things were going down in one punch and nothing felt dangerous lol. Most fights became a quick stab or guys who would clearly be able to obliterate the brothers not doing so because of reasons and then just throwing sam and dean across the room again instead.
Yeah, this is my opinion too. Without giving a power up to Sam and Dean, the fights vs the big bad makes no sense. So far in this season it seems they avoided that, or it didn't stick with me. Hopefully when the time will come where they have to face lucifer or michael, they'll come up with something else that stalling, throwing winchesters across the room, stalling, etc. Edit:I see I already commented on this topic back in October... guess my opinion hasn't changed

Well we knew Rowena was coming back, it was obvious since there was no mention of Lucifer destroying what let her come back last time. Crowley is 100% dead and will likely only be in flashbacks unless Rowena somehow revives him; I hope she doesn't I love him but he died a hero's death. And this just got me thinking...so the empty is where Angels & demons for when they die , right? Is there an empty for each universe? It makes sense there would be I guess. I just really hope they let us know if there's a Chuck for each universe or if Chuck exists outside the universe and created multiple universes. Also Lucy ain't dead, no big bright light of grace explosion. Although that could be due to low reserves of grace, but still think he's just incapacitated. For now .
I would think it goes: God, The Darkness, Death, Leviathans, Beings Above All The Empty, Heaven, Hell, Purgatory for everyone The Multiverse As in, there are beings above everything. Everything would be the worlds where souls go, and the multiverse. Each multiverse might have a version of each person, but the souls still go to the same place. Having a God and all his final resting places for each universe would just be a mess. I like to think that Chuck doesn't want to admit it, but there is likely a world out there which he actually likes, and bailed on the one we have been following because he sees it as a failure. As for Lucifer, he is not down for the count. No matter how little grace he has, he is still an Archangel. I do wonder what they will do with him, now that it seems like he is completely depowered.
There would have to be multiple heaven's heaven because Angels didn't know there were multiple universes. If all souls from the multiverse went to heaven angels would have noticed. There might only be one The Empty and one God but definitely a Heaven, Hell, and perhaps a purgatory for each universe.
There's more than likely only a single empty, but who is to say there can't be more than one Chuck? I mean, he did have a sister. How do we know there aren't different versions of him out there that built all these universes?
Depends on if that thing in the empty ever comes into play I suppose. Could well see the return of both Chuck and Amara at that point.
The thing in the empty I still don't get. He isn't overtly evil or good like Chuck or Lucifer. He simply has this realm he rules over in silence and apparently just wants to be left alone. The only reason we saw him at all was due to Jack waking up Castiel through an act of super magic. He even sent Castiel back to earth just so he could go back to bed. To be honest I think the only way The Empty becomes a main villain or plot point is if the Angels or Demons or maybe even AR Michael use Jack's power to bring even more people back. The Empty would have no choice at that point I think. He would seek out Jack or whoever is controlling them and end them and then return to his domain. The problem is we don't know how strong he is. He says Chuck has no power over his realm or him personally, but that doesn't mean he is stronger than God. I think God's power lies in his ability to directly create and have near absolute control over the things he creates. Since he did not create The Empty or the being who rules over it I think that means he cannot directly influence it or have power over them. Which means The Empty may not be able to directly influence or have power over God or Amara. Honestly I could see Chuck coming back and Castiel mentions The Empty to Chuck and Chuck simply responds "Oh that asshole?"
You know the final episode; however many years down the line it is, will likely be full of returning characters or send-offs. The actor who plays Chuck is a fixture at the Supernatural cons & seems to be love the role & the fanbase. He'll likely pop back in again whenever the story makes sense. Hell, it wouldn't shock me if the producers literally moved heaven & earth to get JDM back for the finale, again whenever that comes, for an appearance.

However...wouldn't the Archangels know this, and therefore Lucifer showing sadness at the "death" of Gabriel just unnecessary? And if only that blade can kill Archangels how was the Apocalypse supposed to happen if Michael would need that blade? There's no way he had it, as Michael is in the cage. This is just bringing up more questions. Maybe it's a man-made blade that requires an Archangel to wield it? Poor Donatello, he never showed any anger and now this happened ;_;. Was that scene with Asmodeus and the fried chicken supposed to be like him as Kernal Sanders or something? Considering he looks like him and all lol... That was one hell of an episode. Season 11 and 12 were a return to form, and season 13 an evolution. A breakthrough. A god damn motherfucking miracle. How they hid this I have no idea, and being attached to this ep...wow. -Hobo Addict Lucy and his enabler sexy angel. -Lucifer, King of.....Heaven? -Ketch is asking for it big time. -Episode 16 is going to be Punished Gabriel VS Lucifer in a chase across the scoobyverse, I can just taste it. And it will be glorious.
If that's the case, he shouldn't of been able to be caught in the first place, unless the Fall really really really diminished his powers to the point sewing his trap shut was unnecessary.

Maybe he was caught right after the fight with Lucifer, while he was still weak, and forgotten about. That's all I can assume happened.
That would be one helluva stretch, since we last saw him with burnt Angel wings after the whole Luci battle. Then Luci confirmed he died, 2 seasons ago and God did mention it would too long to resurrect him. The one character who would/should know if he really did perish or has captured this entire time considering who he is.
Man that was a great episode, it was jam packed with stuff and it really moved things along and the ending was hype as shit. Though you know I have a hilarious nitpick that isn't really tied to this episode but I always chuckle whenever anyone other than a mortal refers to the way angels communicate as angel radio. Like that was a term Dean literally just made up on the spot in a very dismissive way but now it's just seemingly a lore term lol. I get why they do it but it's just funny to me.
That's true I suppose . There was also the lance that was created to kill Lucifer. It could just be asmodeous is a clueless twat and has no idea what he's talking about lol. But yeah Chuck did pretty much confirm the death of Gabriel. IDR, did Asmodeous know about other universes? Maybe Gabriel went to another universe to hide which is why Chuck thought he was dead. It would explain where he has been all this time rather than being a prisoner for well over 8 years. But loving the Gabe Hype and also the movie-which-shall-not-be-named for what they did to my boy.
