    Oh Sony... Sony Sony Sony...

All you had to do was let Marvel run your properties, sit back, and make all of the money. That's it. There's no reason for this to exist.

I disagree. I always pictured Venom has having a dual voice thing going on, like a DBZ fusion.

I can honestly see them not putting that in.

Sony isn’t going to be satisfied going off 1 superhero movie every two years.

Sony’s making this movie, not Feige - and Amy Pascal already said this exists in the same world as Tom Holland Spidey, and they are the ones with rights to the character, so...

A few of the Venom incarnations (ie Ultimate) are missing that. Doesn’t make sense for an alien costume that now has nothing to do with Spider-Man

Looks pretty cool, the voice has me IN. Usual MCU detractors as expected.

  13. Now we finally know what Tom Holland was doing on set.

Tom: "Yeah, it's totally pronounced sym-bi-oat, trust me." [IMG]

The eyes should be bigger. Also, you have to go out of your way to make San Francisco not be totally beautiful.

Gonna be honest, this doesn't look at all terrible. I just find it odd that Spidey is not gonna be integrated in to Venom's origin at all.

    I really hope its good.

I held a sliver of hope this would be alright, but man....they should have just done the soldier venom suit with him getting hulk big when the suit gets out of control or whatnot. I would have preferred that. I’m not mad. I’m disappointed. Venom deserves better.

I didn't see any white spider legs on Venom's chest. I guess there could be a spider design lower down, but the design looks like a black on black Carnage.

    But where’s Ed Norton?

That’s my point. They can just say Venom is after the fact if they wanted to.

    Recast as Mark Ruffalo?

Everything in that movie is Canon.

From the deleted scene with Banner putting the gun to his head and hulk coming out.
    To the abomination
To William Hurt playing thunderbolt Ross.
they just recast Banner as Ruffalo because Norton is such a pain to work with.

I dunno... It's coming out in October, so I'll probably see it because nothing else will be out by then.

A self-contained Venom movie seems kind of iffy.

We’re talking about the Ed Norton one right? Did you miss Civil War cause the General dude from that film is in Civil War, meaning it’s all the same universe. Same General Ross and same actor.

Venom's design looks neat, but man why can't Sony just play nice with Marvel? They're about to get the X-Men and FF back and ya'll are over here trying to make a Venom movie with Spider-Man.

That’s where I’m at. This looks totally boilerplate. It’ll be interesting during the run time, mainly on Hardy’s performance, then slink into your subconscious as something you’ve seen but won’t remember.

Venom himself looks great. I can't comprehend anyone saying otherwise, ESPECIALLY after the Venom we got previously on film. Mind boggling. People trying to "fix" the eyes. Venom's eyes literally look different every time, even sometimes panel to panel between the same artist! Dude is muscular and veiny too.

Because Sony is a business and simply playing nice with Marvel doesn’t get them the potential extra income that this would?

Well setting it in SF is one way to keep the Spider-Man connection on the down low.
