I think you can add Abigail, Urien, Rashid, R. Mika, Laura, and Balrog to that list. Many of those characters have giant weaknesses, but they still have toolsets that allow them to really fuck you up and steal a round. Mika and Laura can still put you in the blender. Balrog and Abigail, despite nerfs, still have the ability to drain your health bar aggressively with a single combo. Rashid and Urien still have filthy V-Trigger setups, while still having above average, versatile toolsets that allow them to compete without their filthier shit. Still not quite half of the roster, but I wasn't really being literal.

I really like Cody, personally. It helps that I am invested in the character, but he also has a lot of good tools that rely on solid, clean play. A dominant win with him feels genuinely great. I play with the knife too, which is still a good V-Trigger, just an honest one. Once again, I feel like this is going to hold him back. I don't know where he will come to sit in the tiers. I am pretty sure it won't be at the bottom, but I am positive it won't be near the top either.

 

Define dishonesty. Cammy is very predictable and flowcharty like Necalli but the combination of great walkspeed/back and forward dash and well ranged buttons that are varying degrees of being + doesn’t exactly scream dishonest in the way that season 2 TAP, not being able to predict where Ibuki is about to land, Menat’s orb not being punishable, or Guile’s short charge time do.

I don’t think Akuma is that bad either.

If I know I'm going to miss on one week of the Laura crossover costume, is there a point to getting the other 3 parts?

Sure, I get that since I feel the same way, but you can't always tell if someone isn't on your level after only one match. I've steamrolled people only to have them beat my ass in the runback, and vice versa. Especially in this game where if you make two wrong guesses and you're probably fucking dead.

If you're definitely going to miss a week, then there is absolutely no point in doing the others. It'd just be a waste of fight money.

 

How difficult do these costume fights get? I’d hate to get 3 pieces and have the last one be impossible for me to get. I’m not very good at the game.
For reference, I always cheat with Rashid to beat the colored soldiers.

 

I wouldn't take that as any indication of skill, the colored soldiers are some BS.

And you can use the same Rashidooo strategy to beat the costume fights too.

 

Not necessarily. Who knows what Capcom might decide to do in a year from now. The missions started repeating (still do), so perhaps Capcom will have a way to get random pieces of extra battle costumes from the year before or something like that. I could be completely wrong, but who knows?

 

Personally, I think you should give people the chance to run it back, even if you slaughter them. That being said, if someone GETS slaughtered I hold no ill towards them if they dip after one.

 

Didn't even realize I hit level 50 with FANG. He is so much damn fun to play, and the rage quits have been worth it.

I haven't tested if it can be used online, but I've read that it'll cause desyncs unless the other person has the same mod installed. Obviously just don't use it online. Just have fun with it in training or local versus. The mod also doesn't have the Shadaloo Soldiers playable yet. They'll be part of the Dolls Fighter V mod I'm working on.

 

So Ring of Power was updated with ELeague logos. When did that happen?

 

Capcom is leaving money on the table with these dolls being stuck in Story Mode.

 

Nah, they're good. They don’t need to flood the game with them.

 

It's a balance concern as well, 12 new characters is a lot of even if they all share the same normals. It would've been cool if the dolls had ended up like Bowser Jr/The Koopalings in Smash - one character with multiple distinct skins, but ultimately all the same character - but they gave them all those unique specials and so that's not a doable thing now. It's perplexing to me the dolls aren't being used in Extra Battle though. Why always Shadaloo Soldiers?

I feel like Decapre would be a great freebie bonus character at some point if they wanted to do it, though. I guess they wouldn't do it out of the blue so the next chance would be the next full AE-style relaunch of the game now.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if Evil Ryu/Decapre end up time-limited free characters a la ArcSys releases when they do SSFV or w/e in S5.

 

Hey, umm, what's up with Cammy's Cannon Spike outfit on PC?
It has no hair physics?

I got it today on PS4 and PC and in the PS4 version there are clearly hair physics... lol.

I wouldn't mind if they went the Triborg/TMNT route for the Dolls. But maybe like in S5 or something.
