One of these days GCCX will run out of Famicoms and they will have to use an FC mini. Imagine Arino playing all that trash :D
It went up on AmiAmi too, but sold out before I could post the link. :( http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=GAME-0020048
A NES Classic like this Famicom would be interesting. A list of games I think would be cool are: Kung Fu, M.U.S.C.L.E. Tag Team Match, Fist of the North Star, Dragon Warrior, Dragon Power, TMNT 1-3, TMNT Tournament Fighters, Batman, Goonies, Goonies 2, Yo! Noid, Duck Tales, The Little Mermaid, Darkwing Duck, Fester's Quest, Town & Country Surf Designs, Popeye, Mike Tyson's Punch Out, Duck Tales 2, Rescue Rangers, Rescue Rangers 2, Little Nemo: The Dream Master The first five games I listed may be odd choices but I think they work and are a nice nod to the Famicom version of this thing. The rest are just licensed games I would want on this thing.
Man i watched arino play that dragon ball game and its so trash. I mean a lot of famicom liscensed games aged poorly or are trash but thats beside the point.
Too many licenses to sort there. It also doesn’t follow a theme unlike the JUMP Famicom. If NOA/NOE did a similar NES Classic for the west it’d probably make the most sense to base it around one central property holder, and license different games from publishers based around that theme. A Disney NES Classic probably makes the most sense tbh and could also incorperate Lucas and Marvel licenses (and maybe soon Fox).
Fake news. Turns out that while the QR code was no longer working, you can stil pre-order via the menu. Got my pre-order in, now to wait!
You go to their website or the machine in the store and order it, then pick it up when delivered. Same as 7-11.
Ship... They went up for sale on toysrus (jp) this weekend and I missed out as I was out of town. -.- There better be a few production runs of this damn thing.
Is it just me or is the colour of this Famicom Mini slightly different? It looks like they've given it the infamous yellow tint, whereas the original is more of a pure white colour.
I just went third-party on Amazon JP. Wasn't sure what else to do, and +$30 or so isn't bad for something that'll be a chore to get.
Nice to see the bump, was just about to post it too. Ordered one for myself. It's silly and gaudy but I want it, no clue how long it'll stay in stock or how rare this'll be.
finally got it. Was starting to feel like it was one of those things where when its gone its gone...glad the page went up again.
I sure did. I wanna see what's going on with the custom game selection, in terms of the emulator and any different wrapper stuff. Plus, I never bit on the FaMini, so why not go gold?
I don't know why but bought one. Will pick up at Lawson EDIT: on a second thought... cancelled it. I already have a classic
Figures. Got ripped by a third-party seller and he/she marked it sent a week ago so I'm locked in. Even though the thing ain't even out yet.
Not necessarily. Maybe they meant mapper and just mistyped, but they could also be talking about the different menu, maybe other emulation improvements, maybe an adjusted filter... all of which could be considered "wrapper" stuff.
After watching him play that awful included Dragon Ball game, I'm fully onboard with him doing the whole set.
and here ya go, with impressions and photos: https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2018...eirdest-and-maybe-rarest-classic-console-yet/
My favourite game store in Bangkok just got a ton of these in stock. Unfortunately I'm not in Bangkok. Damn.
I've not played any of the games yet but man, the gold that I thought looked gaudy in photos looks gorgeous in person.
Some errata: The existing Famicom Mini already includes (4?) Famicom Disk System games, as does the NES Classic if you toss an FDS game on it. Also, generally Shonen Jump is referred to as Jump for short, probably because Shonen simply means "Young boy" and reads weird. Dragon Quest had a popular manga adaptation that ran in Shonen Jump, which is probably another, or the primary, reason it's included. Thanks for the impressions!
Yep, I totally missed that on the Fami Mini's FDS emulation, I'm still kicking myself over that error. I fixed the stuff you mentioned. Thanks for the nudge.
Mine came a couple of days ago. It'll never leave the plastic wrapping as shipped from Amazon Japan. I already have an NES and Famicom Mini, so I didn't really need this, I just wanted it for its rarity, and to remember Shonen Jump's 50th Anniversary.
