The British Origami Society is a group devoted to the art of paper-folding, often known as “origami”.  We have over 700 members worldwide and publish a bi-monthly magazine.  We organise local and national meetings and have a unique library.

We celebrated our 50th Anniversary in 2017 and some of our original members are still active in the Society. Whether you are a complete beginner or have been folding on your own for years, there will be something for you here. Many folders who join feel they are “coming home”.

Please explore the many links above or use the search box (top right) and most of all, consider joining us!

We are a registered charity and our volunteers work in schools, hospitals, youth clubs and many other places to spread the word about origami.

Why not check out our ebay shop?

We hope to meet you at our forthcoming Spring Convention in Bradford!

Here’s a simple model to try, which can be made from any rectangle. Screw up(!) a small sheet to make the basketball!
