Tobin Heath will not return to Portland Thorns FC for another two to three weeks

Portland Thorns FC and U.S. women’s national team midfielder Tobin Heath will be out for another two to three weeks with a back injury, Jamie Goldberg for The Oregonian reported on Tuesday.

According to Thorns FC head coach Mark Parsons, Heath could make her return against the Boston Breakers on May 27, but in the meantime she needs a few weeks to nurse the lingering injury.

Heath’s back injury was first described as minor when she was suffered it during preseason, but after four weeks of league play the two-time Olympic gold medalist has not geared up for Portland. Last month Heath also was taken off the U.S. WNT camp roster due to the injury.
