Born in Arcadia, California, Matt is a TV personality and singer/songwriter. Currently, he is a family member on Hallmark Channel’s daily talk show “Home & Family.” Previously the host of USA Network’s competition reality series “Summer Camp,” and GSN’s culinary reality series “Beat The Chefs.” Matt is best known for hosting “Coming Home,” a reality docu-series on Lifetime which followed the surprise reunions of military members and their loved ones, as they returned home from active duty. Matt put his songwriting experience into play by writing and performing the theme song for “Coming Home” titled “I’m Coming Home,” which has since served as a voice for the experience of military families around the country.
Matt first found fame as a Season 3 finalist on FOX’s reality singing competition “American Idol.” He has since gone on to host many television shows including Discovery Channel’s “Really Big Things,” CBS’s “There Goes the Neighborhood” and “American Idol Extra.” He has also worked as a correspondent on several entertainment and sports shows including “Entertainment Tonight,” “Access Hollywood,” “Turner Sports College Football,” “Best Damn Sports Show” and the TV Guide Network. Matt continues his music career performing with his band.
Rogers received a B.A in Business Communications from the University of Washington, where he played college football as an offensive lineman for their 2001 Rose Bowl championship team. Rogers is a proud husband to wife Teri Himes, and father to Brayden & Mason and soon-to-be baby Samantha.
