MNA Ayesha Gulalai decides to quit PTI

August 1, 2017

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Ayesha Gulalai Wazir has decided to quit the party. She is highly likely to join Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), according to sources.

Our correspondent said Ayesha Gulalai is parting ways with PTI over some differences.

“The MNA says she has some grievances with PTI leadership over ‘humiliation’ of workers,” a source said.

Speaking to SAMAA TV, Gulalai said that party workers were referred to as 'chotay workers' and they are not treated with respect.

"I believe if Article 62,63 are used to disqualify a corrupt ruler then they should also be used against a someone who is immoral," she said, indirectly referring to the party's senior leadership.

According to our correspondent, she is annoyed with PTI Chairman Imran Khan “for humiliating some party workers.” However; there are no confirmed details available in this regard.

As per details, Ayesha Gulalai spoke to a journalist and told him that she would hold a press conference soon to expose people in PTI who are against women.

There are reports that Gulalai has not yet decided to join any political party; however, there is a strong possibility that she may join PML-N as she has met PML-N leader from KP, Amir Muqam, recently.

She is likely to announce her final decision in press conference.

On the other hand, some PTI leaders are making efforts to convince her and address her concerns.

Her decision came on the day when National Assembly is electing a new prime minister. It was even unclear whether or not she will take part in the voting process. - Samaa

Gulalai, who begun her political career as a human rights activist from South Waziristan, was representing PTI on a reserved seat for women.

She has also remained associated with Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) as coordinator in FATA, and All Pakistan Muslim League (APML). - Samaa
