Hello and welcome to the 663rd installment of the SWD.

Military events/news are listed below by the governorates:

Raqqa:

Vehicle-borne improvised explosive device killed one and wounded three civilians on Al-Nour street in the city of Raqqa. Separately, a left over Islamic State’s improvised explosive device killed a civilian in the village of Ajaj in western Raqqa.

Idlib:

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham restarted their attacks against Al-Jabhat al-Wataniya lil-Tahrir (National Liberation Front) in southern Idlib and northwestern Hama, in order to encircle the latter’s stronghold of Qalaat al-Madiq. Hayat Tahrir al-Sham reportedly captured Habit, Tramla, Abideen, Sfuhen, Satouh, Arnaabi, Kawkab, Rashaa al-Shamaliyah, Rashaa al-Janoubiyah, and Al-Zankar in southern Idlib.

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and Al-Jabhat al-Wataniya lil-Tahrir conducted a prisoner exchange in the governorate. Al-Jabhat al-Wataniya lil-Tahrir released 16 elements of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham who were captured in Tell Manas, in exchange for the release of several elements of Al-Jabhat al-Wataniya lil-Tahrir’s Harakat Nour al-Deen al-Zenki, who were captured in western Aleppo.

Hama:

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham launched an offensive against Al-Jabhat al-Wataniya lil-Tahrir in Al-Ghab Plain region in northwestern Hama. According to reports, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham captured Al-Ankawi and Al-Amqiya, as well as Al-Zaqum, Al-Daqmaq, Qalidin, and Al-Hamidiyah.

Several brigades of the Free Syrian Army’s Jaysh al-Nasr (Army of Victory) released statements announcing their neutrality in clashes between Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and Al-Jabhat al-Wataniya lil-Tahrir (National Liberation Front). The brigades that announced their neutrality are; Liwa Suqour Kafr Awaid, Al-Liwa al-Thani, Liwa al-Shahida Karima Anizan, Al-Liwa Al-Awl Maghawir, Liwa al-Shahid Mohammed Dukhan, Katibat Shuhada Tramla, and Liwa Shuhada Sahel al-Ghab.

Afghanistan

Faryab Province:

Nine elements of the Afghan Local Police surrendered to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) in Kala, Sardi Kham Safid, Sheikh Ali, and Mira areas of Bandar district.

Badghis Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed three and wounded four elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Qadis district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News stated that the group took control of three Afghan National Security Forces’ military centers and 16 checkpoints, as well as more than 80 villages, after the latter’s’ withdrawal in Band Sharam and Gandab areas of Ab Kamari district.

Ghazni Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed three and wounded two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Giro district.

Urozgan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces reportedly killed 35 and wounded 13 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed three vehicles, five motorcycles, and several weapons depots and ammunition caches in Deh Rawud, Khas Urozgan, and Chahar Chino districts, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran five Afghan National Security Forces’ checkpoints in Chato and Mazar areas of Deh Rawud district. Ten elements of the Afghan National Security Forces were killed, while an element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan was killed and another wounded in the encounters. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized two vehicles, an RPG launcher, a PK machine gun, and two assault rifles from the checkpoints.

Helmand Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device killed two elements of the Afghan National Army in Narimanda area of Nad Ali district.

Kandahar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed six and wounded four elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Shah Wali Kot district.

CJTF-OIR:

CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now one strike report will be published each week on Mondays.
