Aris Appaev has confirmed to Eurovoix-World.com that he will be representing Kabardino-Balkaria & Karachay-Cherkessia at Turkvizyon 2016.
Aris Appaev has confirmed today that he will be competing in the Turkvizyon Song Contest 2016 in Turkey this December. The singer who was selected to represent Kabardino-Balkaria and Karachay-Cherkessia at last years contest will finally make his way to the Turkvizyon stage.
In 2015 Aris beat off competition from nine other hopefuls to be selected to represent the two regions of Russia in the Turkvizyon Song Contest. He was due to compete with the song “Unutma meni”, however was forced to withdraw following a deterioration in relations between Turkey and the Russian Federation.
Aris is the second singer to be revealed this year who was due to take part in one of the Turkvizyon Song Contests last year, the other being Madina Kartakeyva from Stavropol Krai. To date the following 17 countries and regions have confirmed their participation in Turkvizyon 2016 to Eurovoix-World.com:

The Turkvizyon Song Contest was first held in 2013 in the Turkish city of Eskisehir. The contest which is open to Turkic nations and regions such as Turkey, Kazakhstan and Yakutia. The contest follows a similar format to the Eurovision Song Contest, with songs limited to being 4 minutes long. To date Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan have won the contest.
