 The Battlefield franchise enters a new era equipped with more firepower, modernized weaponry and vehicles, and a deeper infantry experience from the jungles to the beaches of Vietnam. From villages on the Ho Chi Minh Trail to the city streets of Hue wage modern
warfare as the United States or North Vietnamese Army (NVA). Select from a variety of characters within the different soldier classes as you command powerful new vehicles including attack and transport helicopters, the M551 Sheridan tank, and the F-4 Phantom fighter

Eve of Destruction BF:V 0.16 - Release Sept. 15
16:05 PST | | Print News | Category: BFVEve of Destruction 2 is planning on releasing a new version of their mod for Battlefield Vietnam this coming Wednesday, which includes two new maps, co-op, better AI and much more.
We have finished the work on EoD-BF:V v0.16 !
All maps have got COOP now, improved AI, better lighting and much more improvements. Also every map was checked for bugs to stop these damned crashes to desktop. It's the most stable EoD-BF:V build ever !
Two maps are new in this build: Camp Caroll and Que Son Valley wich have been imported from EoD-BF1942.
It was possible to create this new version because of the help of some enthusiastic fans.

The website's BF:V section was updated with new screenshots.
Downloads will be available on Sept. 15th, 2010.
The server ZIP is available from now on.

Point of Existence - BF Vietnam v1.0

We would like to thank everyone for the wonderful support we have enjoyed over the years. Our recent announcement that we were wrapping up production on PoE2 brought a lot of old friends around to say hello and voice their support. A big thanks to everyone that was involved in this massive production. We hope you continue to enjoy it for a long time.
During our final months of production on PoE1, we didn't know when DICE would announce the release date for BF2 and pretty much close the doors on our Battlefield Vietnam production. We were very aware that Battlefield 2 would zap our playerbase and eclipse our work. This led us to cut some details that we didn't have time to wrap up. We hate leaving loose ends and always felt like we didn't finish this chapter of our mod to the point where we would have liked.
It therefor gives us great pleasure to announce the final installment of our Battlefield Vietnam modification, Point of Existence (PoE1). We are including a nearly complete set of COOP maps and many bug fixes for the game. Dust off those Battlefield Vietnam disks and get ready to enjoy Point of Existence again! Read the rest...

AIEV Mod Released

Grenademan has released a new AI improvement mod for BattleField Vietnam, Be sure to swing by the BattleField Singleplayer forums and let him know what you think of his work.
BOTS:
VEHICLE AI:
- Bots in the Cobra co-pilot position fire HEAT missiles more frequently, and fire them at infantry and vehicles.
- Bots in the Assault Huey fire the miniguns much, much better now and also fire them at aircraft.
- Bots in the Huey slicks will now fire at enemy targets.
- Bots shoot tank main guns further and more accurately.

Battlefield Vietnam Map Pack

A good fellow by the nick of "Grenademan" has released a custom BFV mappack with a total of 10 new maps in all. Full bot support for Coop play with friends, filling up an online server, or just playing solo. So if you have the BFV itch and want some new battlegrounds, give this mappack a try. BFV WW2 Extended

The server files should be available shortly at your favorite file website. Check back for mirror listings. The full release will be sent to the file services on Thursday, June 1st. Here is the read me.
The WW2 mod Extended is a conversion of the original Battlefield 1942 to the updated engine of Battlefield Vietnam. The all original maps have been transferred to the new engine. These theaters come to life like never before using the overgrowth and undergrowth that made BFV such a hit. All of the characters, weapons, and vehicles have also been redone to make use of the advanced BFV rendering engine. The original BF1942 content married to the gameplay tweaks introduced in BFV combine to create a whole new Battlefield experience. Read the Rest... Comment on This!
