TKG Academy’s spiritual program is taken from the spiritual practices developed by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada as done in Hare Krishna temples worldwide. The goal of our spiritual program is to inspire TKG Academy’s core principles. We take special care to foster spiritual qualities in a loving environment, designed around student inclinations.
Each morning, students begin their day with a Morning Sadhana Class. Students recite Sanskrit prayers, perform individual Deity worship, and practice meditation on the Hare Krishna maha mantra and Vedic stories. Our naturally inclined students are fascinated by personal tasks in the school temple room. Students develop a natural attachment to Krishna, through their worship of the Gurukula Deities.
They also treasure their Spiritual Friday program, where they are afforded an opportunity to worship exactly as the adults do at the temple. We end our morning Sadhana Class with a prayer of respect to each other and to our teachers. This sets the tone for the rest of the day’s academic classes. TKG Academy attends temple functions on special Vaishnava Holidays and festival. During thematic classes in the afternoon, students learn about these special days through media, research, drama and art presentations, and literacy activities. The community also sees student involvement during festival preparations and other events.
