Durdana Butt is a veteran Pakistani television actress, who spent most of her life in acting. She was known for her comedic acts and she usually played the role of a mother or an aunt in many of her television serials. She was born in Lahore, Pakistan. 

The actress started acting during the 60’s and since then, she became one of the most successful Pakistani actresses. She was featured in many Pakistani drama serials and some of her remarkable performances were from PTV Network’s Aangan Terha as Sulatana in the late 1980’s and Tanhaiyaan as Bibi in 1985. Durdana became one of the most prolific actresses during her time and she was respected in the media industry. She already performed several roles and has gained appreciation because of her brilliant acting skills. Her natural style of acting also gained her several accolades. 

Durdana appeared on ARY Digital’s comedy sitcom Dugdugi, Hum TV’s Phir Chand Pe Dastak, Mera Naseeb as the aunt of the protagonist Syra Yousuf, Naugar Ke Aage Chakar and Fifty Fifty. She has filled laughter to the lives of many with her excellent acting.

Not everyone knows that Durdana is also in the field of education and has studied her intermediate and graduated at Kinnaird College, Lahore. Later on, she went on to pursue her PhD at the University of Toledo in Ohio Educational Administration. The actress is also associated with Prithviraj Chauhan.

Ekta Saraiya is an Indian television actress who became popular after her portrayal as Mallika Manoj Singh, a career-oriented woman, in Ekta Kapoor’s soap opera entitled Kya Huaa Tera Vaada, which was aired on Sony Entertainment Television Asia in the years 2012-2013.  Ekta started her career in the drama series, Simply Sapney, aired on Zee Next in the year 2007. She was one of the four lead characters alongside Vaibhavi Upadhyay, Shruti Vyas and Vedita Pratap Singh. It is a story about four different small town girls who lives together under one roof; their journeys and trials on finding their identities and the impact that it throws on their friendship.  In 2009, she played the lead role in the drama serial Kalpana, which is still airing on DD National channel until now. This is one of the popular Doordarshan’s television shows, which garnered 4.22 TVR ratings on the show’s 3rd episode. Kalpana was produced under the banner of Balraj Sahni Productions and is a story about a girl who is trying to raise her family by means of singing.  In 2011, she played as Rajvee in Shobhana Desai’s drama serial Mukti Bandhan on Colors. Ekta also appeared as Shikha Nanavati after a seventeen year leap in the drama soap Hamari Devrani on Star Plus channel, which is also under the banner of Shobhana Desai Productions. The dilemma of the woman was presented by Ekta in a very beautiful manner which earned accolades for her from all corners.  After her success in this serial, Ekta was again seen in the next serial of Balaji telefilms of Ekta Kapoor, 'Kya Hua Tera vaada'. The serial was telecasted on Sony TV and was a success. Ekta played the role of a career oriented wife of the younger brother of male protagonist whose wife was portrayed by Mona Singh. Both the women depicted the characters of two women characters in sharp contrast to each other. Where Mona Singh played the role of a typical Indian house wife, who is happy sacrificing her career for her husband and children, Ekta depicted the role of a career oriented wife who is not ready to sacrifice her career at any cost. She is even ready to sacrifice her family for her career without thinking twice on the issue.  The performance of both these women was par excellence and was much appreciated by the audiences as well as critics.
