Jhené Aiko Poses Nude for PETA Anti-Fur Campaign

Jhené Aiko bares all as this year’s “Sexiest Vegan,” an honor bestowed on her by PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals). To celebrate this, the “Maniac” songstress posed nude for the organization’s “Drop the Fur” campaign, covering her body in white sheets.

A proud vegan, Jhené says she began the lifestyle after being hospitalized and told that her eating habits had been unhealthy. Now, she feels there are also other reasons to live without consuming animal products.

“As human beings, we have the power to speak up for animals,” she explains in an interview with PETA. “They don’t speak our language, so I feel like it’s up to us to help them and give them a voice. Animals have feelings. They have souls. They have emotions. The way they’re killed for fur is very inhumane.”

In an explicit clip that features brutal images of animals being hurt and killed, Aiko explains why she doesn’t wear fur. “They’re electrocuted, beaten, drowned, skinned alive,” she says. “Once you know that, how could you think wearing fur is cool? It’s not.”

In 2014, the L.A. singer also promoted pet adoption in an ad for PETA2.

Last night, Jhené and her TWENTY88 co-star/boyfriend Big Sean attended PETA’s “Naked Ambition” event in Los Angeles, where her ad was unveiled.

Other stars who’ve also teamed up with PETA for similar campaigns in the past include D△WN, Kid Ink, Mya, and Chilli of TLC.
