Millwall boss Kenny Jackett has signed a new three-year contract.

The deal is in recognition of Jackett's achievements since taking over in 2007, including reaching last season's League One play-off final.

Chairman John Berylson told the club website: "The progress we have made under Kenny has been tremendous.

"He has taken us from the brink of relegation to the verge of promotion in a short period of time, and I am convinced the best is yet to come."

The former Watford and Swansea boss took over at Millwall in November 2007 and steered the club to League One safety that season.

Jackett has been busy securing the futures of the nucleus of his squad since the 3-2 defeat to Scunthorpe in the play-off final at Wembley last month.

Andy Frampton, Gary Alexander, Neil Harris, Scott Barron and Alan Dunne have all signed new contracts while striker Steve Morison has come in from Stevenage.

Brighton keeper John Sullivan is also due to complete his move to the club next month.

Jackett said: "I'm pleased to commit myself to the next stage of Millwall's development and to build on the great strides we have made both on and off the pitch.

"As a group of players, management and staff, we are hungry to prove ourselves in the coming season with consistent quality performances.

"This is a club with tremendous potential as was demonstrated by the huge number of fans we took to the play off final.

"It is a potential that I am eager to develop and this contract, with the backing from the chairman and board of directors, gives me the opportunity to realise this."
