On this day – May 6th, 1998, Steve Jobs of Apple Computer Inc unveiled the first ever iMac (it had only 32 MB RAM. Yes, MB, not GB). It would change the computer industry and give the PC some competition.

This helped transform Apple from a struggling firm to one of the preeminent technology behemoths in the world.
