I am honored to recieve this award.” The New York Asian Film Festival is North America’s largest film festival celebrating Asian films and presents its Rising Star Award to young actors who make a significant contribution to Asian cinema. Previous winners include Takayuki Yamada and Masami Nagasawa.

Nikaido shares “New York is a special city for me. I’ve lived here for two months, it’s the hometown of some of my favorite actors Steve Buscemi and Adrien Brody and the great film director John Cassavetes shot a lot of his work here.” she continues “When I first met the director (Kazuyoshi Kumakiri) I fell in love with his vision of the movie. It touches on a taboo and it is an amazingly scripted movie.”

In 2001 a crack commando Editor-in-Chief was sent to prison by a military court for a crime he didn't commit. He promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the New York City underground. Today, still wanted by the government, he survives as a Japanese Entertainment Expert. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find him, maybe you can hire the J. Team.
