Just yesterday, the ink finally dried on a new deal to bring ultra-affordable women's and men's clothing line Joe Fresh to NYC. Joe Fresh, the brainchild of Joseph Mimran (founder of Club Monaco), originated in Canada, and was sold exclusively at various locations of Canadian grocery chain Loblaw's. Yes, you could stock up on your produce and marino wool sweaters just aisles apart.

The concept for Joe Fresh's venture to NYC is slightly different—sadly, you will not be able to purchase shawl-collar V-neck sweaters at your local D'Agostino. Joe Fresh has landed a stand-alone space at 510 Fifth Avenue, covering 5,000 square feet at sidewalk level and 10,000 additional square feet on their second floor digs. JF will be occupying the only retail space in the "glass box" building, purchased by Vornado Realty Trust for a reported $58 million.

With a cult following in Canada, how will Joe's freshest line translate here in New York? Needless to say, Joe's presence will help to heighten the fashion presence situated in the 40's on Fifth Avenue, which is also about to gain outposts from Tommy Bahama and Guess. C'mon Joe, we're waiting.—Yale Breslin
