Kavita Kaushik says she would not be doing movies with Binnu Dhillon in the future

When the Smeep Kang directorial ‘Naukar Vahuti Da’ was announced, the star cast included Binnu Dhillon and Kavita Kaushik in the lead, but according to the recent development, the same has been changed. Kavita Kaushik has stepped down from the project and has been replaced by Kulraj Randhawa. Spilling beans on why she has backed down from ‘Naukar Vahuti Da’, Kavita Kaushik in an exclusive interview with ETimes said, “It’s a very conscious decision for me that I would work with anyone else, but I am done with doing movies with Binnu Dhillon”.
She also explained why she doesn’t wish to work with her ‘Vekh Baraatan Challiyan’ and ‘Vadhayiyaan Ji Vadhayiyaan’ co-star Binnu Dhillon any more. She said, “Binnu is amazing when it comes to comedy; he is very talented and has got his own style. However, no matter who the heroine is, all that matters in his movie is Binnu himself. The script is written according to Binnu, he performs the meatiest role and nothing is written for the heroine, she is just eye candy. I personally believe that people go to see Binnu in a Binnu's film, and I don't want to get lost in the same”
The actress further added, “After ‘Vekh Baraatan Challiyan’ the jodi was really liked, but I did not have any fun doing the next project ‘Vadhayiyaan Ji Vadhayiyaan’. There's was nothing for me as a heroine to do, apart from looking pretty and dancing. So, I don’t think I will be doing any film with Binnu in the future, because I want to show the audience what I am capable of, as for the Punjabi audience I m new. Of course, my television audience knows what I do, and even as the tv star, there were so many shades to my character in the same show. I am used to doing so much of meaty work, whereas in Binnu's film, a heroine is asked only to look pretty Punjabi kudi (girl) and dance around. For me personally it is very embarrassing to just look good and dance, a kudi can be a lot more than just a pretty face, she can be brainy, she can do comedy.”
Talking of the Punjabi audience, Kavita Kaushik said that in her experience when a Binnu Dhillon’s movie comes out, people go to see him only. Thus, she feels she is just not required in the movie. “So better I do a small film, a different subject, in which I hope the audience comes to see me. I am at that stage of my career right now, where I don't need to do quantity, but quality. Moreover, all of Binnu's movie's storylines are the same, in which he is doing all the efforts to get the girl; there’s nothing new.” added the Pollywood diva.
Further, Kavita Kaushik concluded her decision of not working with Binnu Dhillon by saying, “I want to create a different market for myself, hence I don't want to do a movie with Binnu. He has created a fan base in Punjab, I want to do that with my work, which will not happen by latching an already successful male actor, who already has a following, I don't want to be behind him in the line.”
