Distributed to over 20 off-campus locations, The Daily News is a presence in a wide variety of industries. Papers are available everywhere from local restaurants to financial planning organizations ensuring that we target a diverse audience.

Our campus partners are changing the media industry, and we are quick to adapt. Ball Bearings, Byte, The Daily News, and Newslink are shaping how students consume media, and we make sure that our client’s messages are a part of this. Our services are created with the intent of developing relationships between our clients and the Ball State University community.

Cardinal Communications at McKinley Avenue

We are pleased to announce the merge between former student-run agency Cardinal Communications and the McKinley Avenue Agency to create a newly formed public relations division. Cardinal Communications at the McKinley Avenue Agency will continue to be devoted to
public relations and promotions, for both internal and external clients.

Our History

Since 1976, Cardinal Communications provided real-world experience to students in areas of strategic planning, digital content, creative projects, video and photography and writing. The goal of the student-run strategic communications agency was to provide members with opportunities to grow in their current fields of study, learn new skills that expand their education, offer opportunities for networking with seasoned communications professionals in the nation and foster an environment for growth outside of the organization.

The McKinley Avenue Agency is the latest name for the advertising, sales, creative and business office for Ball State University’s student media group, which has existed in some form since 1922. In the summer of 2017, the operation most recently called the Unified Media Advertising and Creative Suite media sales and advertising agency formed plans to integrate with other Department of Journalism-supported strategic communication agencies and transition into a full-service integrated marketing communication student agency.
