Here’ some more information for you about the data you can see on this page: from key terms to how the data was run.
- Channel: ‘stagger’ includes viewing data for the parent channel, its +1 channel and its HD equivalent if it has one.
- Audience / Live: the audience who watched the programme at the time of transmission
- Audience / VOSDAL: this is Viewing-On-Same-Day-As-Live. A recorded programme that has been viewed on the same day as the original broadcast
- Audience / Time-Shifted: the playback audience to a video or DTR recording (e.g. Sky+) of a programme. Playback occurs within 2 to 7 days of the original broadcast to be counted.
- Total Audience: the consolidated viewing audience for the programme. This is the sum of the live, VOSDAL and time-shifted audiences.
- Share: the percentage of the total available viewing audience who were watching the programme over a given time period.
All numbers are expressed as a share of all commercial TV viewing apart from the ALL TV Volume table which is a share of total TV viewing.
