The first of two DLC packs, The Legend of Zelda X Mario Kart 8 DLC Pack came out on November 13, 2014. The content pack contains Link from the Legend of Zelda series as a playable character, alongside Tanooki Mario and Cat Peach. The pack also contains four new vehicles (like F-Zero's Blue Falcon) and two race cups (with four tracks each). Tracks include Hyrule Circuit, Mute City (from F-Zero), and a stage based on Excitebike. Purchasing this DLC pack or the other - or both as a bundle - will also get players additional color skins for Yoshi and Shy Guy. See the course list for the cups, and new characters below:
The second of two DLC packs, the Animal Crossing X Mario Kart 8 DLC Pack will be available in May 2015 for around 12 dollars. The content pack contains the Villager and Isabelle from the Animal Crossing series as playable characters, as well as Dry Bowser. The pack also contains four new vehicles and two race cups (with four tracks each).
