When Travis Scott promised a “big return” after putting his annual music festival on pause during the year of Covid-19, he didn’t disappoint. The very popular Astroworld Festival announced it’s ticket sales launch and now shows a 2 day event is taking place. Tickets go on sale on Wednesday May 5th at 10:00 A.M. Houston time.

The announcement comes after the 2020 edition of the festival was canceled due to a slightly bigger news headline. Lucky for Astroworld fans, Fortnite held an Astroworld themed event in its place which featured a virtual Travis Scott concert and a ground that featured the festival theme.

The festival proved to be a success since it first ran in 2018. Over 40,000 fans attended a well lined festival that featured Post Malone, Young Thug, and many others in addition to Scott himself.

The festival returned big in 2019 and expanded from its hip hop focus to other acts such as reggaeton star Rosalia and surprise hard rock act Marilyn Manson. Other acts like Pharrell, Migos, Megan thee Stallion, and Gucci Mane headlined a deep lineup. Additionally, Kanye West showed up as a surprised guest star to Travis Scott’s act.

While no lineup has been announced for 2021, we can expect the boundaries to further expand with a now multi day event. The festival has maintained a tradition on waiting for the week of the event to release lineups. With more days come more acts and more genres.

NRG Park is expected to be the festival grounds again.
