Winner of the Second division will get a chance to play in I-League 2018-19.

The All India Football Federation floats the nomination process for the forthcoming Second Division League 2017-18 and all the state associations are informed to nominate the teams, as per the last-concluded top division league, along with the necessary documents.

Neroca FC are the reigning champions from the Second Division League 2016-17 who will appear in the Hero I-League 2017-18.

Interested clubs need to contact their respective State FAs to nominate themselves for the Second Division League 2017-18.

“We have seen the Second Division League growing thick and fast over the years and mostly, the competitive level has gone up considerably. We have seen quite a few players as well coming up from the Second Division League to hog the limelight in the bigger stage eventually. AIFF opens the nomination process for the Second Division League 2017-18 now and we’re really looking forward to more teams showing their urge to contest in the National stage this season”, Mr Sunando Dhar, CEO, I-League stated.

Khel Now understands that clubs from Gujarat and Ranchi are interested to be part of the I-league 2nd division this season. It is a positive move as the involvement of more states will see the growth of football and its outreach. 

The State FAs need to nominate the respective teams for the Second Division League 2017-18 on or before October 4, 2017.
