The Miami Marlins placed catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia on the seven-day concussion disabled list Sunday.
The Marlins have not disclosed when Saltalamacchia, who is mired in an 0-for-13 slump, suffered the injury.
Saltalamacchia is batting .237 with six home runs and 17 RBIs this season, his first with Miami.
To replace Saltalamacchia on the active roster, the Marlins recalled catcher J.T. Realmuto, who took to Twitter to express his excitement.
Got to call my family today and tell them that my childhood dreams were coming true.. Never felt so blessed! Thank you all for the support!!
