Gibraltar announce squad for International friendlies

Gibraltar’s squad for the International friendly matches against Liechtenstein & Latvia has been announced, with Lincoln Red Imps and Manchester 62 making up the majority of the 31-man squad.

Goalkeepers – Jordan Perez, Jamie Robba, Dayle Coleing & Kyle Goldwin.

Defenders – Jean Carlos Garcia, Roy Chipolina, Ryan Casciaro, Erin Barnett, Jamie Bosio, Joseph Chipolina, Justin Rovegno, Jayce Olivero, Brad Power, Alain Pons & Ethan Jolley.

Midfielders – Liam Walker, Jack Sergeant, Aaron Payas, Anthony Hernandez, Jeremy Lopez, Shaun De Los Santos, Dean Torrilla, Robert Guiling & Anthony Bardon.

Forwards – Kyle Casciaro, Jamie Coombes, Mikey Yome, George Cabrera, Evan Green, John Paul Duarte & Robert Montovio.

There are many familiar faces in the squad from the recent Euro Qualifiers but manager Jeff Wood has brought in some new faces such as Kyle Goldwin, Brad Power, Alain Pons, Shaun De Los Santos, Dean Torrilla, Evan Green and Robert Montovio who will hope to impress in the next few weeks.

Gibraltar will be without star striker Lee Casciaro who is still recovering from injury, this gives a chance for other players to take his place but we expect his brother Kyle Casciaro to lead the attack.

Players who have missed out are Louie Barnfather who was one of the favourites to be selected, Shea Breakspear who has had a solid season and Britannia and also Lions midfielder Ashley Rodriguez who again was a favourite to be selected.

Something which has surprised many is the inclusion of so many players in University, the standard in UK we expect to not be as good as the one in Premier so it will be interesting to see how the players cope when they train for the first time together this weekend.
