LONDON — Yuka Mannami will be the face of Shiseido’s spring campaign, WWD has learned.
The 24-year-old Japanese model worked as a nurse in Japan before she was discovered via Instagram. Mannami has modeled on the runway for Fendi, DKNY, Creatures of the Wind and Olympia Le-Tan. She has been featured in publications including Vogue Japan, Interview and Wallpaper.
She will front the cover of i-D Japan’s fall-winter issue, which hits news stands this weekend. The black-and-white cover was photographed by Mario Sorrenti, who also shot the brand’s spring campaign. The campaign, which will run next year, will star Mannami wearing the beauty brand’s spring lineup, which includes makeup, skin and sun care.
“Yuka embodies the young Japanese woman. She is fresh, modern and edgy all at the same time,” said Shiseido creative director Ruba Abu Nimah. “She is the essence of contemporary Japan.”
