- SynopsisConstantine travels to Rome to receive his honours for distinguished service. On the way he is ambushed by men in the pay of his rival, Maxentius. Constantine later discovers that his mother is a Christian and announces to the Senate that he intends to tolerate all Christians in the future. Maxentius now renews his persecution of the Christians and prepares to attack Constantine's forces in Gaul. Encouraged by a sign reading "By This Sign Conquer" Constantine defeats his enemy with ease and converts to Christianity. (Synopsis)
