Network Integrity Assurance Technologies (NiAT) recently installed a new VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) satellite communications system at the India Space Research Organisation Telemetry, Tracking, and Command (ISRO TTC) Station in Tungku Submarine Cable Station.

The installation aimed to establish a satellite link between Brunei and their rocket launch spaceport in Sriharikota Range (SHAR), India.

“It will be used as communications medium for voice and data transmissions such as rocket launch performance parameters as it fleets across the Bruneian horizon,” said NiAT.

The initiative consists of installation for reception and recording of launch vehicle or spacecraft telemetry signals, and transmission of telecommand signals and tracking tones to launch vehicles and spacecraft.

To date, there are over 20 launches that the Brunei TTC station has been involved with while the ISRO TTC Station primarily supports all launch vehicles and satellite missions of ISRO.

The installation was inaugurated by the High Commissioner of India to Brunei, Ajaneesh Kumar alongside Chief Executive Officer of Unified National Networks Dr Steffan Oehler and CEO of NiAT Lim Ming Soon.

Participating virtually were ISTRAC Bengaluru Director Dr V. V. Srinivasan and NiAT Deputy CEO Siti Nuraazzah PDHA Aziz. – Analisa Amu
