AMSTERDAM — Dollar General’s new 750,000 sq. ft. distribution center received its first shipment of product Monday, a news release said.
The national retailer is in the process of ramping up its new $91 million Montgomery County distribution center located in the Florida Business Park Extension, in Amsterdam. The facility will ultimately employ more than 400 workers.
Montgomery County Business Development Center CEO Ken Rose said: “Congratulations to the whole team at Dollar General on the arrival of their first truckload of product. It’s an exciting day for the company, our community and the whole region. Dollar General is a tremendous addition to our economy and the arrival of product to this new facility means hundreds of people will soon be on the job in our area. Dollar General’s investment in Montgomery County is just the latest example of businesses, government officials like County Executive Ossenfort and communities working together to create real opportunity here. That cooperative relationship is the reason Montgomery County is working.”
the community where this was built did not want it built there the town and county officials ignored everything reason we gave not to build it.we have gone through 3 years of breathing in dirt dust and lime dust and nothing was done to stop it.they didn’t even take into consideration our quality of life here when they decided.if anybody actually reads this I also have videos of what they did to us and 6 other families
