  1. The relative ease of the gameplay and the downplay of violence makes this an excellent game for kids of all ages - yet it's not completely sucky. A first-rate adventure for everyone.

Narnia stands as a near perfect example of how to make a movie-based videogame the right way. Everything from the combat system and level design to the game’s visual presentation just scream quality.
  3. The learning curve gets steep rather quickly and some of the levels will require ridiculously good timing in order to advance. In fact, the difficulty swings back and forth so often that it almost feels like two separate games.
  4. It’s impossible to deny this title’s appeal, with its excellent use of an excellent license, adept implementation of team combos, and picturesque scenery. If you’re a hardcore gamer, you’ll notice the flaws and lack of depth, but even then, Narnia is still likely to weave a spell on you.
  5. Kids with better patience than adults will marvel at the great visuals and probably forgive any of the shortcomings we have picked out. For starters it’s immensely frustrating in places and perhaps a little on the short side.

Has a good feel of the world of Narnia in it, but as a game it is rather dull and average. Good fun for the fans of the movie. [Jan 2006]
  7. Wonderful sounds and a cooperative game-play system help to make the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe a fun title.

Children might not be too critical of the game's smaller blemishes such as the mind numbing collecting of coins and an often unfair camera that is completely fixed in position.
  9. This console and PC trip through the Wardrobe is a mostly run-of-the-mill action adventure that might hold some measure of appeal to fans of the film, but not so much anyone else.
  10. A decent start to what will inevitably be a games series.

Narnia could be an all-time great movie adaptation, but its difficulty makes it unsuitable for its kiddie audience...and for pretty much everyone else, too. [Mar 2006, p.102]
  12. But if you're looking for an entertaining postwork action/adventure romp, this simply isn't worth the moolah.

The difficulty and level design problems are a real shame because when it's good, Narnia is really a lot of fun, but when the designers decided to make it really tough, they managed to sap most of the fun out of what should have been a whimsical action ride through the frozen land of Narnia.

I'd give it less, but it won't let me. We installed this game today and I'd love to tell everyone what I thought, but when we I'd give it less, but it won't let me. We installed this game today and I'd love to tell everyone what I thought, but when we play, all we see is a series of very badly tearing polygonal garbage pile of what I assume are the "beautiful" graphics. It sounds pretty cool, but that's all I can tell you. Oh - the user control interface just blows from the get go When defining keys on the PC version, my daughter was trying to customize player one - and when she tried to save her changes, it wouldn't and she couldn't figure out why. Turns out that leaving "empty" spots on player two (by redefining player 1 keys) causes the interface not to exit. The boxed edition includes no manual. My system more than meets the "minimum" requirements - but when I went to the "official game website" i found no patches, no faq, no support whatsoever. If ever there was a more poorly supported product, it would have been designed by old Screwtape himself. Full Review »
