H.E Dr.Francis Irungu Kang’ata has TODAY taken Oath of Office to become the Second Governor of Murang’a County. H.E Governor Irungu Kang’ata was flanked by his Wife-Now the County First Lady Mrs.Mary Wambui Kang’ata and his able Deputy;H.E Stephen Mburu Munania who has also taken Oath of Office to become the Third Deputy Governor of Murang’a County. This Zealous Team has Pledged to work together towards revamping the Economic and Socio-economic Fabric of Murang’a County for the Welfare of Murang’a Populace.

H.E Governor Kang’ata;an accomplished Lawyer with a PHD in Law comes in with Wealth of Experience in Public Service and Leadership having served as an elected Ward Councillor in Murang’a Town,Kiharu MP and Senator for Murang’a County.His Stellar Career in Public Service and Leadership as well as his Professional Life as a Lawyer and Law Lecturer has earned him Honour and many Accolades.His Landslide Victory in the recently concluded Murang’a Gubernatorial Election is a Testament to the Trust and Confidence, the People of Murang’a have and have bestowed in his ability to effectively lead the People’s County Government of Murang’a.

H.E Governor Kang’ata has reiterated his Commitment to Regenerate Agriculture through Guaranteed Minimum Returns on Murang’a Cash Crops and through Agri-entrepreneurship, Healthcare through a functional Universal Healthcare Program and Health Infrastructure, Economic growth and Entrepreneurship by reducing License Fees/Taxes, allocation of Grants, Business Loans and Facilities to MSMEs as well as technical entrepreneurial Skills Training to the Youths.
The newly Sworn in Governor has also pledged to change the Style of Murang’a County Governance to an Open Door Policy where the People of Murang’a will be welcomed to bring their Ideas, Opinions, Appeals as well as as their Dissatisfaction to the Office of the County Governor.
