Pochampally has its history Wayback to the 1950s. Acharya Vinoba Bhave, a great disciple of Mahatma Gandhi & first Satyagrahi, launched his Revolutionary Boodhan {Land Donation} Yagna Movement in the country with the first Boodhan gift { Donation of Land to the Poor } from Vedere Ramachandra Reddy at this Beautiful spot on 18th April 1951.
He has donated nearly 1000 Acres to the needy in pochampally; from here, it comes to the name Boodhan pochampally. Earlier, Pochampally is called with the name Gajula pochampally (Bangles Pochampally)

Pochampally Got the “Best World tourism Village” tag from United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO).
